TechFlow, November 3 — Akshat Vaidya, Investment Director at Maelstrom Capital, Arthur Hayes' family office investment fund, disclosed on social media that a $100,000 investment made four years ago in an early-stage cryptocurrency fund (the screenshot indicates it was a Pantera-affiliated fund) has dwindled to just $56,000, representing nearly a 50% loss.
Over the same period, Bitcoin's price doubled, with some seed projects delivering returns of 20 to 75 times. However, due to high management fees and carried interest, LPs' (limited partners) capital in the fund suffered severe erosion.
