TechFlow news, October 30 — According to Decrypt, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have successfully cracked a cryptocurrency wallet belonging to a suspect, recovering digital assets worth $6 million USD (approximately 9 million AUD). AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett revealed that a data scientist managed to unlock the wallet by identifying forged numbers artificially added to the seed phrase. The analyst discovered that the suspect attempted to set up an "encryption trap" by adding numbers at the beginning of the sequence, but the manual alterations were ultimately detected. Using a different method, the same analyst later cracked another wallet, recovering $1.9 million USD. These funds will be used for crime prevention measures following court rulings. This case is part of "Operation Siren," which has led to the arrest of 46 individuals, execution of 93 search warrants, and seizure of significant quantities of illegal weapons and drugs.
