TechFlow news, October 30 — According to CNBC, U.S. President Trump said he has reached a one-year agreement with China on rare earths and critical minerals, and will cut tariffs on fentanyl from China by half to 10%. The two leaders held their first meeting in six years in Busan, South Korea, which lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes.
As Trump departed South Korea, he told reporters the meeting was "incredible" and "many decisions were made." He stated that "the rare earth issue has been resolved," referring to an annual agreement that will be renegotiated each year. Tariffs on exports to China will also be reduced from 57% to 47%. Trump also revealed he plans to visit China in April.
