TechFlow, October 29 — According to Politico, after nearly a month of U.S. government shutdown, the situation appears to be shifting. An approaching critical deadline, coupled with external pressure, is injecting new urgency into bipartisan talks that have been stalled for weeks. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, his Senate allies, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and other House Republican leaders increasingly believe that a growing number of moderate Democrats are ready to compromise on a stopgap funding bill to mitigate the shutdown’s impact, possibly as early as next week. Republican leaders are discussing a new stopgap funding bill, with dozens of proposals currently under consideration, including options to fund the government temporarily until around January 21 or even later into March.
