TechFlow news, October 28 — Kite AI, an AI-powered payment public blockchain project, announced a strategic investment from Coinbase Ventures.
According to official information, this funding round is an extension of Kite’s recent $33 million financing led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst. The new capital will support the development of its autonomous AI agent payment infrastructure and joint efforts with Coinbase to accelerate widespread adoption of the x402 protocol.
Kite was designed from inception to natively integrate Coinbase’s x402 agent payment standard. As one of the first Layer 1 blockchains to fully implement x402-compatible payment primitives, Kite enables AI agents to initiate, receive, and reconcile payments through standardized intent-based authorization, establishing itself as the native execution and settlement layer for the x402 protocol and the emerging agent economy.
