TechFlow news, on October 27, according to Jinshi Data, California Governor Gavin Newsom said in an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" that he would seriously consider running for the 2028 U.S. presidential election after next year's midterm elections. Newsom admitted: "Otherwise, I'd be lying."
As a prominent figure within the Democratic Party, Newsom has been steadily increasing his national influence in recent years. His aggressive communication style is seen as a deliberate imitation of Trump's social media strategy, including the use of all-caps posts, memes, and merchandise. His political rivalry with Trump has continued to escalate, with multiple confrontations over immigration protests, deployment of the National Guard, and Texas redistricting.
Newsom is currently pushing forward California's Proposition 50 to redraw electoral districts, aiming to add five House seats for the Democratic Party, with voting set to close on November 4. In the interview, he described Trump as an "invasive species," saying he "undermines the symbolism of the White House and is destroying alliances, truth, and institutions."
In addition, Newsom launched his own podcast this year, attempting to project a centrist image, featuring guests such as Steve Bannon, Tim Walz, and Jasmine Crockett, among other political figures.
