TechFlow, on October 26, according to Cointelegraph, Ghana's central bank governor Johnson Asiama stated at an International Monetary Fund meeting that the country will launch comprehensive cryptocurrency regulations by the end of 2025. He revealed that the relevant bill is being submitted to parliament, with regulatory oversight expected to be completed before December.
It is reported that Ghana's central bank released a draft regulatory framework as early as August 2024, proposing an eight-pillar structure requiring exchanges and virtual asset service providers to enhance registration and reporting requirements. Currently, approximately 3 million Ghanaians—nearly 9% of the national population—use cryptocurrency.
