TechFlow news, October 23 — According to Cryptonews, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson hinted at the Turning Point USA event that Bitcoin's mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, might be linked to U.S. intelligence agencies.
Carlson claimed Bitcoin could be a "scam" orchestrated by financial elites and stated he trusts gold more than cryptocurrencies. He questioned how investors could trust an asset with an unknown founder: "No one can explain to me who Satoshi is—the mysterious guy who supposedly died, yet nobody knows who he really was. I grew up in Washington, mostly around government families, so my guess is the CIA."
Bitcoin supporters have pushed back against this view. Marty Bent, founder of TFTC, said it wouldn't matter even if the CIA created Bitcoin, as anyone can audit the code to verify it works as intended. Strike CEO Jack Mallers emphasized that Bitcoin is open-source, neutral technology, and the identity of its creator is irrelevant.
