TechFlow news, October 22 — According to Crypto in America, executives from major cryptocurrency firms and David Sacks, President Trump's policy lead on cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence, gathered today on Capitol Hill to meet with Republican and Democratic senators regarding market structure legislation.
The meeting aims to restart bipartisan dialogue and push for relevant bills to reach President Trump’s desk before the midterm elections. At 10 a.m., David Sacks will meet with Republican members of the Senate Banking Committee, emphasizing that passing market structure legislation is a top priority for the Trump administration this year.
At 11:30 a.m., Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will host a Democratic roundtable attended by 11 senators including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and approximately 10 industry executives, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz, and Kraken CEO Dave Ripley.
At 2 p.m., select industry leaders will attend a Republican roundtable hosted by Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott and Cynthia Lummis. Previously, both parties had serious disagreements over regulation of decentralized finance, causing negotiations to collapse.
