TechFlow news, on October 16, HashKey Group announced its official joining of the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) global partner ecosystem led by Google, becoming one of the first compliant digital financial service institutions in the Asia-Pacific region to participate in the development of AI Agents payment standards. It will work alongside over 110 leading fintech companies worldwide, including PayPal, Circle, and UnionPay International, to advance the AI agent payment ecosystem.
AP2 is an open protocol that defines open rules for how AI Agents can conduct reliable transactions with user authorization—using Verifiable Credentials to enable AI Agents and service providers to securely initiate, authorize, and settle payments without human intervention, ensuring transparency, auditability, and scalability of the payment process. The protocol supports crypto payment methods such as stablecoins, providing technical support for future on-chain applications.
As an early AP2 ecosystem participant in the Asian market, HashKey Group will explore compliant application pathways for AP2 in areas such as stablecoin payments, on-chain identity, and AI agents on-chain settlement.
