TechFlow, Oct 15 — According to The Block, Cloudflare announced a collaboration with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express to jointly develop AI agent payment authentication standards, laying the foundation for the emerging "agentive commerce" economy. This partnership will enable AI shopping bots to authenticate via Cloudflare's Web Bot Auth standard, allowing AI agents to independently search for, negotiate, and purchase goods or services.
This move is part of Cloudflare's expanded strategy in crypto payments. The company previously announced plans to launch the NET Dollar stablecoin and partnered with Coinbase to establish the x402 Foundation for standardizing agent payment protocols. Industry analysts predict that as AI converges with crypto technologies, on-chain capital could surpass $100 trillion within the next five years.
