The bill failed to pass, with 45 votes in favor and 50 opposed. Subsequently, the Senate voted on a temporary funding bill put forward by Republicans. The vote again failed to meet the threshold for passage, and the bill was not adopted. With both bills rejected, the U.S. government shutdown will continue.
