TechFlow, Oct 6 — According to CoinDesk, decentralized mapping project Bee Maps announced a $32 million funding round to expand its global contributor network and scale infrastructure. The round was led by Pantera Capital, LDA Capital, Borderless Capital, and Ajna Capital.
Bee Maps is an application on the Hivemapper network built on the Solana blockchain, one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks focused on map data. Hivemapper enables drivers to contribute data via AI-powered dashcams that detect road changes in real time, ensuring digital maps are rapidly updated and accurate. Bee Maps rewards contributors who collect street-level imagery with its native token $HONEY.
The new funds will be used to distribute more devices, enhance AI models responsible for processing and updating maps, and improve contributor incentives tied to $HONEY.
