Thus, the case, which British police called the world's largest single cryptocurrency money laundering case, is now resolved. The trial, originally scheduled for 12 weeks, ended within just two days. The case will now proceed to the sentencing phase, with the sentencing of Qian and Lin scheduled for November 10 and 11, 2025.
According to Caixin, co-defendant Seng Hok Ling is not a first-time offender and previously served prison time in Hong Kong for fraud. The arrest of Qian Zhimin in April 2024 was made possible through leads involving Lin Chengfu. At the time, Lin not only conducted Bitcoin transactions for Qian on the Binance platform but also helped her book Airbnb accommodations in Scotland to assist her escape. Qian was ultimately arrested in York, UK.
