TechFlow news, on September 29, according to Caixin, multiple Chinese law firms have been engaged to represent Chinese investors in the Blue Horizon case, filing civil claims at the UK High Court regarding the money laundering involving 61,000 bitcoins. Law firms including Clifford Chance, Duan & Duan, and Yingke have collectively represented over a thousand clients.
In addition, the presiding judge for the main defendant Qian Zhimin is Her Honour Judge Sally-Ann Hales KC, who holds significant reputation and influence within the UK criminal justice system. Representing Qian Zhimin is barrister Philippa Eastwood from Doughty Street Chambers. Based on the market price on September 28, the 61,000 bitcoins frozen by UK authorities are valued at approximately 48 billion RMB.
