Event Introduction:
CityUHK Web3AI Club (hereinafter referred to as the Club), supported by the City University of Hong Kong Postgraduate Association (CUPA), is dedicated to fostering a culture of technological research and innovation in Web3 and AI on campus. By connecting with distinguished alumni, engaging university professors, and inviting industry experts, the Club aims to build a solid bridge linking industry, academia, and research for all students passionate about cutting-edge technologies, promoting knowledge sharing, intellectual exchange, and project practice.
On October 8, the Club will host its inaugural meetup titled "CityUHK Web3AI Club Meetup - Let's Kick-off!" on the campus of City University of Hong Kong. Through keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, and industry networking, this event is multi-dimensionally designed to achieve several goals: first, establishing community cohesion by introducing the core team structure and future development plans; second, focusing on knowledge sharing by specially inviting advisory professors and seasoned industry guests to deliver in-depth insights into innovative trends and industrial practices within the Web3 space, providing students with advanced cognitive exposure; simultaneously, the event will facilitate connections and promote diverse interactions among students, faculty, industry experts, and partner universities, creating opportunities for academic advancement, career development, and collaborative projects, thereby continuously channeling dynamic blockchain industry updates, frontier technologies, and high-quality resources into the campus.
Attendees of this meeting will include leaders of the Club, targeting community members and students, staff, alumni across all levels at City University of Hong Kong, as well as students and alumni from collaborating Hong Kong universities. Additionally, representatives from academia, leading exchanges, blockchain research institutes, crypto communities, and digital banks will also attend. Speakers include: Edward Du, Club Advisory Professor and CEO & Co-Founder of NUT Ltd.; Yosean Wang, Research Assistant Professor at CityUHK Digital Medicine Institute and PI of DeSAI X Lab; Yuki Zhang, BD Director at OSL; Esther Jiang, Head of Conflux HK; MiSue, CMO of World in Shadow (WIS); and Jian An, President of 0xU (Hong Kong University Students' Blockchain Community). They will focus on sharing Web knowledge, industry insights, and talent development perspectives. A free networking session will allow close interaction with speakers, complemented by fine tea and refreshments. All participants are warmly welcomed!
