River People is positioned as "a platform serving the creator economy."
Driven by Rivermen council members and ambassadors, Rivermen is launching its first community-driven event with official support—the First Rivermen Synthesis Story Contest.
Positioned as a "platform serving the creator economy," this event aims to bring tangible benefits of the creator economy to Rivermen supporters and participants, allowing them to showcase their synthesis achievements while reinforcing external understanding of Rivermen's positioning.
01 What Is Synthesis?

Rivermen launched 10,000 NFT mystery boxes in August this year at 0.04 ETH each and introduced its synthesis mechanism that same month.
Here’s how the synthesis mechanism works (a refresher):
1) Initially, everyone receives a Pawn (miniature figure). After initiating synthesis, the sequence progresses as follows: Pawn → Scene → Place → Part → Whole. Each round generates a new NFT asset; the resulting NFT is a higher-tier asset eligible for participation in the next round of synthesis;
2) Synthesis requires specific recipes, which can be discovered through two methods: i. Officially provided voxelized empty scroll of the Qingming Festival painting (scenes without people) and an ancient scroll featuring figures, enabling players to search and identify their Pawn's occupation; ii. The action performed by the player's Pawn must match the corresponding figure’s action in the official clue. Only when both conditions are met can synthesis proceed. If a Pawn's occupation does not match the required recipe, synthesis will fail;
3) Current progress in Rivermen synthesis has reached the Scene stage.
4) Each Pawn can only participate in synthesis once (recorded on-chain—contestants should verify beforehand). Pawns already used in synthesis may have future utility and are not discarded.
02 Prizes
This contest is officially supported, with ETH rewards for first, second, and third prizes. Winners of the first and second prizes will also receive a complimentary Pawn from the Rivermen team. Additionally, winners from first to fourth place will each receive one OG or whitelist spot (courtesy of our partner BreakingPanda—the world’s first NFT combining pop art, generative music, and AR gaming, “BreakingPanda”).
To enhance community engagement, participants who do not win prizes will still receive an official Wenquxing POAP badge (stay tuned), while voters will receive a Citizen POAP badge (see image below).

04 Judging Criteria

The winner of the First Rivermen Synthesis Story Contest will be determined by voting from Rivermen holders on Snapshot. Future contest juries will include the top three winners from previous rounds (Scene-Place-Part-Whole, with a Synthesis Story Contest held during each synthesis phase).
Judging rules:
1) Combined vote weighting: 50% from Rivermen holders, 50% from the jury.
2) For this inaugural contest: Voting conducted by Rivermen holders via Snapshot; Jury composed of Rivermen ambassadors.
3) For subsequent contests: Voting conducted by Rivermen holders via Snapshot; Jury composed of the top three winners from the previous round.
05 Community AMA
Scene 211 "Group Rowing" creators have fired the starting shot for the Synthesis Story Contest!
Scene 211 "Group Rowing" has been voted by the community to become the first animated scene in River Theater titled “Starting with a Knife.” We will host an AMA on December 10, where Tamo, the production team behind “Starting with a Knife,” will share insights into the video creation process. NOVA will also address community questions regarding synthesis and the current contest.
Additionally, after the AMA concludes, we will release the synthesis story article prepared by the holder of Scene 211 "Group Rowing" for reference.
