Musk: Besent is Soros's puppet; he can't even do math
Besent believes Musk's corporate board is not particularly enthusiastic about the Tesla CEO revealing his new "American Party."

After another fallout with Trump, Elon Musk has now engaged in a public spat with U.S. Treasury Secretary Bettencourt.
On Sunday evening local time, Musk commented on social media that Bettencourt is a puppet of Soros. "He's a political science major who can't even do math. A year ago, my polling numbers were extremely positive—that’s why Trump valued me so much."
Musk made these remarks under a reposted video of an interview with Bettencourt. In the interview, Bettencourt said, "The principles of DOGE are very popular, but if you look at the polls, Elon himself isn’t." He added that Musk’s corporate board is not particularly enthusiastic about the Tesla CEO launching his new "American Party."

Clash at the White House: The rivalry between Musk and Bettencourt
During Musk’s tenure serving in the Trump administration, he and Bettencourt clashed multiple times.
As previously reported by Wall Street Insights, during one heated argument, the usually composed Bettencourt lost his temper completely, shouting “F*** you!” Musk shouted back, “Say it again—louder!” Their confrontation escalated from the Oval Office into the hallway, startling Italian Prime Minister Meloni, who was visiting Trump at the time. Staff had to intervene to separate the two.
The dispute quickly turned personal. Bettencourt accused Musk of exaggerating claims and making no real progress on DOGE’s budget-cutting efforts. Musk fired back, calling Bettencourt a “Soros puppet” and mocking his past failures as a hedge fund manager.
The immediate trigger for that clash was a disagreement over the appointment of the IRS leader. Musk had pushed for Gary Shapley to become acting IRS commissioner, while Bettencourt favored Michael Faulkender, Deputy Treasury Secretary. Ultimately, Trump backed Bettencourt’s candidate—an outcome seen as a sign of cooling relations between Trump and Musk.
This latest exchange between Musk and Bettencourt comes amid escalating tensions between Musk and Trump over fiscal policy, further straining their relationship.
Trump’s recent signing of the "$3.3 trillion beautiful bill"—authorizing massive spending—has drawn sharp criticism from Musk, who argues it will worsen America’s debt crisis. Musk has also threatened to fund primary challengers against any members of Congress who support the bill.
As previously reported by Wall Street Insights, on July 5 local time, Musk announced the formation of a new political party independent of both Republicans and Democrats—the "American Party." He claimed this party would represent the "80% of moderate voters" in American society and aim to win seats in Congress through elections.
The next day, when asked about billionaire Elon Musk launching a new political party, President Trump said Musk could “have some fun with it,” but dismissed the move as “absurd.”
