On-chain maximalism
"Maximalism of On-Chain Reality" is not merely a new trend in crypto culture, but an evolution of civilization itself.

Reality transcends the virtual. Reality embodies inherent truth, and truth implies an unquestionable order. This order brings peace to our minds, allowing us to believe that even as time passes and life reaches its end, reality will exist endlessly. On the other hand, the virtual represents inherent falsehood. Falsehood means internal logical inconsistency. Things built upon such flawed logic, no matter how beautiful they appear on the surface, cannot endure. Ultimately, this leads to inevitable destruction. Yet, the boundary between reality and the virtual is often blurred. We frequently assess the world around us through an empiricist lens: what is familiar and comfortable is seen as real, while what is unfamiliar and distant is deemed false. Such judgments vary greatly from person to person. From a logical standpoint, how can we be certain that the world we inhabit is not an intricately constructed dream? How can we verify that what we perceive as real isn't merely hallucinations generated by electrical signals stimulating the brain? We immerse ourselves so deeply in the familiar that we often forget to question more profoundly.
A reality that captures attention is one that holds meaning for the individual, and such meaningful realities lead to transformations of self. When you sit before an electronic device, fully absorbed, launching your favorite game and guiding a character through its dazzling adventure world, you become so focused that you lose all sense of time. In this state of flow, the in-game character becomes your meaningful self, and the game world becomes the reality that matters most to you. Your physical body turns into a mere vessel, detached from that reality—existing only to sustain the conditions necessary for your mental engagement, asking nothing more than continued existence.
The phenomenon of subjective displacement enables us to construct new realities. We advocate for "on-chain maximalism" because we believe blockchain technology’s inherent decentralization and immutability provide a solid foundation for building these new realities. The large-scale decentralized applications we are building serve as vast containers capable of supporting ever-growing numbers of participants. Worlds defined by smart contracts are not merely carefully curated theme parks designed for temporary entertainment; they can transcend mere amusement, creating environments where individuals must take responsibility for their actions and bear the consequences. From this perspective, I believe many people do not take seriously enough the large-scale decentralized applications we are building. Many view the on-chain world as a simple supplement to the existing world—optional or secondary. This casual attitude undermines the intrinsic credibility of these applications, making it difficult to convince future on-chain residents to engage in constructive activities that generate long-term, stable value.
Developing large-scale applications is a crucial step toward achieving 'on-chain reality'. Games are an important subset of such applications, yet we hear many voices around us resisting the concept of games. This resistance reflects an underlying anxiety, which is not entirely unfounded. The "sub-reality" shaped by familiar Web2 games demonstrates significant appeal. At the same time, however, this "sub-reality" remains under strong centralized control and is built upon an unstable foundation, liable to collapse at any moment. In contrast, fully on-chain games are not fated for inevitable destruction. Based on this, we can attempt to build a reality that is more authentic and imaginative than the physical world we inhabit—a reality wilder, more romantic, and more beautiful.
Our bodies exist on Earth, requiring daily survival, health maintenance, social interaction to combat loneliness, and selling labor to earn money. These necessities consume much of our time and energy. We may try to assign positive meaning to these tasks for self-comfort, but this is often little more than a reluctant compromise. Born onto this chaotic stage of life, we seem to make choices, yet in reality, we are merely selecting among a series of unsatisfactory options, guided by luck and intuition, unaware of the consequences. As science and technology advance, material resources grow richer, human lifespans extend, and artificial intelligence (AI) takes over more basic tasks, "on-chain maximalism" offers a path to address the spiritual crisis facing humanity.
We believe that 'on-chain maximalism' is not merely a new trend within crypto culture, but an evolution of civilization itself. In this new reality, everyone can become their own master, breaking free from imposed, meaningless choices, and building a future for themselves and all of humanity. Here, there is no centralized control, no irreversible collapse—only a world continuously evolving through consensus and action. Within the realm of on-chain reality, we are no longer passive recipients of external commands, but active creators of a freer, more romantic, and more hopeful future—one that may prove more real than what we once considered “reality.”Join TechFlow official community to stay tuned
