1. Content Recap
First of all, we would like to sincerely thank our guest partners from the security field—including SlowMist, CertiK, WTF Academy, OneKey, BlockSec, and GoPlus—for their joint support throughout this series. Starting from real-life user incidents, we have analyzed risk types, introduced advanced tools, safety guidelines, and protective recommendations across different scenarios.
Looking back at the entire series, we've covered six major hotspots in crypto security: private key security, MEME trading safety, airdrop farming risks, device security, DeFi security, and more. Our goal has been to enhance user security awareness while helping users learn how to protect their private keys and digital assets. Readers can refer to the following articles as needed:

Security Special Edition 04 | OKX Web3 & OneKey: Adding a "Buff" to Device Security
Overall, current security incidents exhibit characteristics of diversity, concealment, and complexity. However, most stem from users having their private keys or seed phrases stolen or being tricked into revealing them—such as through fake airdrops, phishing websites, or fraudulent customer service. Therefore, always remain vigilant. Avoid clicking unknown links, leaking personal information to strangers, visiting suspicious sites, and never disclose your private keys or seed phrases easily.
Please remember: In the world of crypto, security comes first.

2. Latest Security Updates from OKX Wallet
Next, as a self-custodial wallet, OKX Web3 Wallet ensures that users fully control their private keys and assets. OKX Web3 Wallet provides 24/7 protection for your security and privacy. As part of this concluding edition, we’d like to share some of the latest security developments within OKX Web3 Wallet.
Currently, OKX Web3 Wallet has officially launched its Security Center. Users can access it via the banner on the Web3 wallet webpage or visit: https://www.okx.com/zh-hans/web3/security?source=gtm. This center covers five key aspects including open-source code, third-party audits, bug bounty programs, and supports public verification, aiming to build a safer Web3 ecosystem.
First, regarding third-party audits: OKX Web3 Wallet’s security standards have been tested and verified by reputable third-party security audit firms. Audit reports from SlowMist and CertiK are now publicly available for users to review at any time. Going forward, OKX Web3 Wallet will continue undergoing regular reviews by trusted security auditors to ensure asset safety.
Second, on code transparency: OKX Web3 Wallet has open-sourced its core code, including critical algorithms such as mnemonic generation, private key management, and MPC (Multi-Party Computation). These implementations have undergone broad technical community validation and are freely accessible for inspection and auditing on GitHub, enhancing openness and transparency.
Third, in mitigating third-party risks: OKX Web3 Wallet provides robust security monitoring to help filter out high-risk tokens and domains, protecting user assets from threats. To date, it has blocked over 153K malicious domains, 1.5M similar-looking domains, 1.28M high-risk tokens, and prevented 153K high-risk transactions.
Fourth, OKX Web3 Wallet has launched a bug bounty program, encouraging users and developers to report service errors and security vulnerabilities, with generous rewards offered to contributors—working together with the community to strengthen wallet security.
While redefining the wallet experience, OKX Web3 Wallet is committed to safeguarding user assets, enabling users to securely explore the blockchain space with confidence.
3. 24/7 Security Protection
As an industry-leading all-in-one Web3 gateway, OKX Web3 Wallet provides round-the-clock protection for user asset security. For example:
1. Private Key Security
To ensure the security of users’ wallet private keys, the entire underlying system of OKX Web3 Wallet is offline. User mnemonic phrases and private key-related information are all encrypted and stored locally on the user's device. Additionally, related SDKs are open-source and have undergone extensive validation by the technical community, ensuring greater transparency. Furthermore, OKX Web3 Wallet has partnered with renowned security organizations such as SlowMist to conduct rigorous security audits.
Beyond this, to better protect our users, the OKX Web3 Security Team has implemented strong safeguards for private key management, which are continuously being upgraded. Here’s a brief overview:
1) Two-factor encryption: Most wallets currently encrypt mnemonics using a password, storing the encrypted data locally. However, if a user is infected with malware, the virus may scan the encrypted file and monitor input passwords. If attackers capture the password, they can decrypt the content and obtain the user's mnemonic. In the future, OKX Web3 Wallet will adopt two-factor encryption for mnemonics. Even if scammers obtain the user's password via malware, they still won’t be able to decrypt the content.
2) Secure private key copying: Many malware programs steal clipboard data when users copy their private keys, leading to leaks. We plan to enhance the security of the private key copying process—for instance, allowing partial key copying and automatically clearing clipboard contents—to reduce the risk of private key exposure.
2. App & Data Security
OKX Web3 Wallet employs multiple app hardening techniques, including algorithm obfuscation, logic obfuscation, code integrity checks, system library integrity verification, anti-tampering mechanisms, and environment security detection. These measures significantly reduce the likelihood of hacker attacks during app usage and minimize the risk of malicious actors repackaging our app, lowering the chance of users downloading counterfeit versions.
Additionally, at the Web3 Wallet data security level, we utilize cutting-edge hardware security technologies, applying chip-level encryption to sensitive wallet data. This encrypted data is bound to the device's chip, making it impossible for anyone to decrypt even if the data is stolen.
3. Third-Party Risk Detection
We provide numerous security mechanisms to protect user funds:
1) Risky domain detection: When users access DApps, OKX Web3 Wallet performs domain-level analysis. If a user attempts to visit a malicious DApp, the wallet will block or warn them to prevent fraud.

2) "Pi Xiu" scam token detection: OKX Web3 Wallet features comprehensive detection capabilities for "Pi Xiu"-type scam tokens, actively blocking them within the wallet to prevent interactions.
3) Address labeling system: OKX Web3 Wallet maintains a rich and comprehensive address label database. When users interact with suspicious addresses, the wallet promptly issues warnings.
4) Transaction pre-execution: Before submitting any transaction, OKX Web3 Wallet simulates its execution and displays the expected changes in assets and permissions for user review. Users can assess whether the outcome matches expectations before deciding to proceed.

5) Integrated DeFi applications: OKX Web3 Wallet integrates services from major mainstream DeFi projects, allowing users to safely interact with these platforms. Additionally, OKX Web3 Wallet provides route recommendations for DEXs, cross-chain bridges, and other DeFi services, delivering optimal DeFi experiences and gas-efficient transaction paths.

6) Blacklisted address database: OKX Web3 Wallet maintains an extensive blacklisted address database to prevent users from interacting with known malicious addresses. This database is continuously updated to respond to evolving threats and ensure asset safety.

7) Additional security services: OKX Web3 Wallet is gradually introducing more security features and building advanced protective services to better and more efficiently safeguard user assets.
4. Other Measures
1) Security plugins: OKX Web3 Wallet includes built-in anti-phishing protection to help users identify and block potential malicious links and transaction requests, enhancing account security.

2) 24/7 online support: OKX Web3 Wallet provides round-the-clock customer support, promptly addressing cases of stolen or compromised assets to ensure users receive timely assistance and guidance.
3) User education: OKX Web3 Wallet regularly publishes security alerts and educational materials to raise user awareness and help them understand how to guard against common security risks and protect their assets.
OKX Web3 Wallet places great importance on user asset security and continues investing efforts into protection, offering multiple layers of security mechanisms to ensure the safety of users' digital assets.
4. Security: An Everlasting Topic in the Crypto Industry
Amid the wave of the digital era, the crypto industry—a rising and rapidly evolving field—is gaining increasing global attention. However, alongside the widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, various security challenges cannot be overlooked. Although blockchain technology provides a relatively high degree of security for cryptocurrencies, wallet security itself is influenced by many factors—such as private key management, phishing attacks, or user errors leading to private key exposure.
The decentralized nature of Web3 wallets empowers users to fully control their digital assets without relying on central authorities or third-party intermediaries. Yet, this also means users bear full responsibility for securing their assets. Users must fully recognize the importance of wallet and asset security and take effective measures to protect themselves.
Secure and reliable Web3 wallets can enhance user trust in the crypto industry. As cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies continue advancing, demand for asset security is growing stronger. Platforms and wallet providers should leverage technological innovation and user education to offer safe and convenient asset management solutions, providing solid security foundations for the healthy development of the crypto ecosystem.
Security is never trivial—it concerns everyone.
