In the aftermath of the Bitcoin halving and Bitcoin ETF developments, the cryptocurrency market entered a consolidation phase in May. Bitget demonstrated resilience during this period, with several key initiatives throughout the month—including appointing a new CEO, launching the BWB token, initiating an Elite Traders campaign, and hosting global celebrations for Bitcoin Pizza Day. Additionally, Bitget performed strongly across key metrics such as capital inflows, open interest, and website traffic.

According to CCData’s report, while overall spot and derivatives trading volume on centralized exchanges declined by 20.1% to $5.27 trillion, open interest on derivatives exchanges rose 30.5% in May to $55.2 billion. As one of the top three derivatives exchanges, Bitget saw its open interest increase by 39.2%, reaching $9.74 billion.

Capital Inflows and Website Traffic
Based on on-chain data from DeFiLlama, Bitget ranked first among all centralized exchanges for monthly capital inflows, with $975.4 million flowing into the platform.

Additionally, Bitget's website traffic surged significantly in May, increasing by 47% month-on-month with an additional 10 million visits, reflecting growing global popularity.

Bitget Appoints Gracy Chen as CEO
Bitget appointed Gracy Chen as its new CEO, succeeding Sandra Lou, effective May 2024. With over 10 years of experience in business management, marketing, and investment, Gracy joined Bitget as General Manager in June 2022 and has since led the exchange’s global expansion through strategic partnerships and alliance networks, quadrupling its user base. She played a pivotal role in positioning Bitget among the world’s top five crypto exchanges. Gracy is also a strong advocate for diversity in crypto, launching initiatives #Blockchain4Youth and #Blockchain4Her to promote Web3 adoption and gender inclusivity. Launched Elite Traders Campaign with Five Crypto Influencers
In May, Bitget launched its Elite Traders campaign, designed to empower traders through innovative features. Supported by five prominent crypto influencers—Long, Annii, Matthew, Brain Bro Crypto, and David Justin Academy—the campaign highlighted Bitget’s unique offerings such as copy trading, staking, analytics tools, and trading bots.
Celebrating One Year of Blockchain4Youth
Bitget released a retrospective video celebrating the first anniversary of its Blockchain4Youth initiative. Over the past year, Blockchain4Youth engaged over 6,000 participants through 54 campus lectures and workshops worldwide, issuing more than 2,000 certificates. The program collaborated with renowned influencers and over 51 universities, including University College London and Argentina’s National Technological University. Launched in May 2023 with a $10 million commitment, the initiative aims to drive Web3.0 adoption among Millennials and Gen Z. Bitget plans to expand Blockchain4Youth by offering more scholarships and online courses.

In May, Bitget added 62 new tokens, expanding trading options for users. The top-performing tokens included $TURBO, $MNTC, $CEL, $LIFEFORM, and $WOJAK, with price gains ranging from 260% to 1,430%.

Additionally, Bitget introduced 19 new tokens on its PoolX platform, attracting 120,381 participants and achieving a total staking volume of 427 million USDT in May. Notable returns included 86% APR for UDS and 26% APR for DOGEMOB, with average yields between 10%-45% APR, further boosting demand for the product.
Innovative Features
Bitget Exchange launched a Telegram Signal Bot, enabling group administrators to easily share trading signals with followers. With one-click signal sharing and group management tools, the bot enhances community engagement and quality. The beta testing period ran from May 27 to June 27, 2024, during which Bitget collected user feedback and rewarded active participants. This innovation empowers more crypto enthusiasts and supports ecosystem growth.
2024 King’s Cup Global Futures Trading Championship

Since its inception, the Bitget KCGI Championship has attracted over 51,000 participants globally. This year’s tournament offers not only a USDT prize pool but also luxury rewards such as a Ferrari 296, Rolex watches, and exclusive Lionel Messi merchandise. As of June 10, 1,810 teams and 114,831 individuals had registered, unlocking a $3,000,000 prize pool. The total prize pool stands at $5,000,000 USDT and will continue to grow as participation increases.

Bitget Wallet Unveils Bitget Onchain Layer, Launches $10M BWB Ecosystem Fund
Bitget Wallet announced its latest roadmap and BWB tokenomics, unveiling the Bitget Onchain Layer—a foundational layer that serves as an intermediary to simplify user interactions with the complex Web3 world. It represents Bitget’s decentralized future and on-chain extension of its broader ecosystem. By collaborating with industry developers to build MFD (Modular Feature-Dapps) and integrating native functionalities, Bitget aims to redefine user interaction with Web3 in terms of functionality, user experience, and security. Through synergy between on-chain and off-chain resources, it creates complementary advantages. A $10 million BWB Ecosystem Fund has also been established to invest in and incubate on-chain trading and meme-related products and assets.
BWB
BWB is the official ecosystem token of Bitget Wallet and the system token of the Bitget Onchain Layer. It plays multiple roles within the ecosystem, including community governance, staking, access to Bitget Wallet Launchpad and various airdrop events, eligibility for Bitget platform activities, participation in airdrops for projects within the Bitget Onchain Layer, and payment of multi-chain gas fees after the rollout of AA wallets.

Bitget Wallet Ranks First on Certik’s Crypto Wallet Security Leaderboard
In May, Bitget Wallet ranked first on CertiK’s newly launched Crypto Wallet Security Leaderboard, outperforming Trust Wallet and MetaMask. The ranking evaluates Web3 wallets based on both on-chain and off-chain data analysis. Bitget Wallet has built a comprehensive security framework featuring multiple layers of protection, ensuring safety across all transaction and interaction scenarios. It incorporates MPC wallets, AA wallets, hardware wallet integration, completed audits of core protocols such as Swap, cross-chain bridges, and NFT marketplaces, and shares Bitget’s $400 million risk protection fund, enhancing its risk resilience.
