As we enjoy the convenience brought by this revolutionary technology to work and life, how can we ensure its potential negative impacts are controlled so that technological advancement truly benefits humanity? How can we protect consumer and human rights while promoting technological innovation? How can AI development across industries set examples for others and help latecomers avoid detours?
As a major global event exploring responsible artificial intelligence, Chicago AI Week will take place from June 25 to 28 (June 25: Industry Day; June 26: Impact Day; June 27: Innovation Day; June 28: Web3Con), delving into these questions, seeking answers, and advancing cross-border, cross-state, cross-industry, and interdisciplinary AI collaboration.

"Government officials, thinkers, technical experts, and business leaders who care about humanity's future are joining forces to collectively address the opportunities and challenges AI brings to human society. Chicago AI Week is a key part of this global movement," said Xiaochen Zhang, founder of AI 2030 and initiator of Chicago AI Week. "Chicago brings together top academic institutions, government research bodies, and an innovative ecosystem, rapidly emerging as an influential AI hub. Moreover, as one of the world’s major financial centers, Chicago is leveraging its unique position to drive AI innovation and application in finance and many other fields."
Betsy Ziegler, CEO of 1871 and Co-Chair of the Chicago AI Week Advisory Committee, said: "We are excited to launch the AI 2030 Chicago Center during Chicago AI Week in partnership with AI 2030, further solidifying Chicago’s status as a center for technological innovation. 1871 warmly welcomes leading AI pioneers from around the world to join our transformative journey."
"Implementing AI solutions can help optimize critical urban services. From public safety to city planning, we can use AI to identify patterns and make our cities better. By bringing leading figures in AI to our city, Chicago AI Week strengthens our reputation as a tech and AI hub in the Midwest," said Alderman Gilbert Villegas, Chair of the City of Chicago's Committee on Economic, Capital, and Technology Development.
