CoinEx Global Pizza Day Celebration Event - Malaysia Station
This gathering not only connected local cryptocurrency enthusiasts but also deepened everyone's understanding of cryptocurrencies.
On May 25, 2024, the area outside Gmue Club—the largest nightclub in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia—became lively and vibrant due to a striking Pizza truck and a large crowd of young people. This was CoinEx, a globally established cryptocurrency exchange, hosting a major Pizza Day celebration in Malaysia, attracting over 150 local crypto enthusiasts.
Pizza Day is a significant event in the crypto community, commemorating the historic moment on May 22, 2010, when software developer Laszlo Hanyecz exchanged 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas—the first known instance of Bitcoin being used to purchase physical goods. Fourteen years later, those 10,000 bitcoins would be worth over 700 million USD, marking an extraordinary milestone that has allowed the crypto community to witness Bitcoin’s evolution.
Malaysia served as one of CoinEx’s global stops for celebrating Pizza Day, and this event also marked the brand’s first-ever offline meetup with its Malaysian fans—an occasion of special significance. CoinEx specially selected Gmue Club, one of Malaysia’s most popular nightlife venues, as the event location, creating a festive party atmosphere for local crypto enthusiasts and delivering a rare and memorable experience.

At the event, a uniquely designed outdoor Pizza truck served freshly made pizzas to attendees, drawing attention from passersby. CoinEx's Malaysia ambassador also engaged the crowd with blockchain education, allowing participants to enjoy delicious food while learning about the latest developments in the crypto space. In addition, CoinEx organized exciting interactive activities, including quiz games with prizes such as CoinEx merchandise, further heating up the festive mood. The After Party moved straight into Gmue Club, where energetic music and a joyful ambiance pushed the excitement to new heights.

"This event truly let me feel the charm of Bitcoin culture. As someone new to cryptocurrencies, being able to connect casually with others in this field at such a relaxed party was simply amazing," shared one participant.
The gathering not only brought together local crypto enthusiasts but also deepened their understanding of digital currencies. CoinEx stated that it plans to continue organizing diverse offline fan events in Malaysia, allowing more people to experience firsthand the appeal and potential of the crypto world.
