X Layer public mainnet is now live, building an ecosystem with over 200 dApps
Our goal is to enable millions of people to enter and exit on-chain applications more affordably and quickly through X LAYER, a Layer 2 network powered by ZK technology and compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

Today we officially launch our Layer 2 public mainnet—X LAYER—alongside an ecosystem of over 200 dApps.
X LAYER is already integrated with the OKX exchange (CEX) and the OKX Web3 Wallet, enabling users to seamlessly bridge assets between both platforms onto X LAYER and interact with dApps deployed on the network.
The name X LAYER combines the "X" symbol from OKX, representing openness and interoperability, with the term "LAYER," referring to a range of protocols designed to enhance blockchain scalability. X LAYER is purpose-built to be general-purpose, not limiting innovation to any single use case. Our vision is for on-chain developers to use X LAYER and its infrastructure to create new “layers” for diverse applications.
Progress since the X LAYER testnet launch
During the X LAYER testnet phase, more than 200 dApps joined the network, while thousands of developers actively built protocols on X LAYER. Our goal is to enable millions of people to enter and exit on-chain applications faster and cheaper through X LAYER, a ZK-powered, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible Layer 2 network.
Among the current 200+ dApps on the X LAYER network are approximately 40 DeFi apps, 20 infrastructure apps, 12 bridging solutions, 5 growth tools, 16 wallets, 10 NFT and gaming apps, 10 SocialFi projects, and several developer tool dApps.
Some of the most popular Web3 dApps building on X LAYER include:
• DeFi dApps such as Curve, Renzo, and QuickSwap
• Infrastructure apps including LayerZero, Wormhole, and EigenLayer (DA)
With the X LAYER public mainnet now live, our focus is on attracting as many developers and users as possible. We aim to incentivize and foster innovation around ZK-based Layer 2s by delivering a seamless and efficient on-chain experience.
The long-term vision for X LAYER

3. A cheaper and faster on-chain experience
• Significantly reduced transaction fees to make dApp interactions more economical
• Enhanced TPS through optimized transaction batching and validation
Over the past few years, we launched our first self-custody wallet and subsequently introduced new services within it, such as search, swap, and cross-chain functionality across hundreds of on-chain networks. Additionally, we’ve rolled out innovative features like Ordinals and creator tools to support a wider variety of on-chain use cases. At the end of last year, we announced our plan to develop an Ethereum L2, believing this would be the next foundational building block for improving how users interact with on-chain applications.
We conceptualize our Web3 ecosystem through fundamental building blocks, using analogies from transportation—such as cars, destinations, services, and highways.
