Berachain Testnet Interaction Guide: A Step-by-Step Tutorial to Unlock Potential Airdrop Opportunities
As is well known, participating in testnets is a crucial step to obtaining token airdrops.
Written by: TechFlow
Berachain is a DeFi-focused, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK. It employs a novel consensus mechanism called Proof of Liquidity, which allows users to stake multiple assets (such as BERA, ETH, BTC, and stablecoins) with validators. These staked assets are then used to provide liquidity to the chain's native virtualized AMM, significantly improving capital efficiency.
Berachain’s tokenomics feature a three-token model: $BERA – the gas token, $HONEY – a stablecoin, and $BGT – the governance token. Notably, $BGT cannot be purchased on secondary markets. It is a non-transferable NFT that entitles holders to a portion of fees generated on Berachain.
On April 20, 2023, Berachain announced a $42 million Series A funding round led by Polychain Capital.
Recently, Berachain launched its public testnet, Artio. As widely known, testnets are often a key step toward qualifying for future token airdrops. Below is a detailed guide on how to participate in this testnet.
Step 1: Add the BERA Network
Add the BERA network to MetaMask by visiting the Berachain testnet address, connecting your wallet in the top-right corner, and following the prompts to add the BERA network to MetaMask.

If you encounter connection issues, you can manually add the network in MetaMask using the following parameters:
Network: Berachain Artio
RPC URL: https://artio.rpc.berachain.com
Chain ID: 80085
Currency Symbol: BERA
Block Explorer URL: https://artio.beratrail.io
Step 2: Claim Testnet Tokens
Visit the faucet to obtain BERA test tokens. Simply enter your wallet address in the input field shown in the image below. Note that you can only claim 0.25 $BERA every 8 hours. If you hold a Bong Bears NFT, you can claim additional BERA test tokens from this website.

Step 3: Begin Interactions
Go to Berachain’s DEX and perform the following actions:
Switch to the Berachain testnet network and connect your wallet;
Use the Swap function on the DEX to exchange $BERA for $STGUSDC, performing multiple swaps as desired.

Proceed to the $HONEY minting website and mint HONEY using some of your STGUSDC.

Next, visit the liquidity mining page, select the STGUSDC–HONEY pool (do not use all your HONEY), and add liquidity to earn BGT rewards.

Then go to the testnet lending platform, connect your wallet, and under "Available to Supply," deposit HONEY.
Finally, visit the perpetual contracts testing site—Berps. Connect your wallet, click “Start Trading,” and begin participating in futures trading tests. It is recommended to trade at least 10 $HONEY per transaction.

After completing the above tasks, you can also visit Berachain’s official Galxe campaign page to claim an NFT badge as proof of participation.
