It has been reported that the fifth season of the TRON Hackathon has officially launched. Starting in July, TRON will host a series of hackathon events across major U.S. cities—known as the TRON Builder Tour—to encourage all interested decentralized application (Dapp) developers to build on the TRON blockchain. According to the schedule, the tour officially began in New York on July 16, and will continue through Los Angeles, Miami, and the University of California, Berkeley between July and September, concluding on the U.S. East Coast by the end of September.
According to competition rules, each participating team must deploy a Dapp on the mainnet of either TRON or BitTorrent Chain (BTTC). During development, teams can leverage the robust infrastructure and diverse functionalities of TRON or BTTC to create innovative and impactful Dapps, competing for a share of the TRON Builder Tour prize pool.

TRON Launches Builder Tour in New York
Developers interested in the TRON blockchain are invited to board the "Blockchain Bullet Train" and participate in a nationwide series of hackathons.
TRON and BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) have officially announced the launch of the "Developer World Tour"—the TRON Builder Tour—co-hosted with Huobi Ventures. This global outreach program aims to inspire top-tier developers to build on the TRON and BTTC blockchains.
Organizers of this global hackathon tour declared: "The Blockchain Bullet Train is about to depart! Developers, please get on board—the final stop of this journey is a decentralized future."
Starting in July, the TRON developer relations team will host a series of events called the TRON Hackathon across major U.S. cities.
With the hot launch of Season 5 of the TRON Hackathon, the TRON Builder Tour will run concurrently, aiming to encourage all aspiring decentralized application (Dapp) developers to build on the TRON blockchain.
According to data from DeFiLlama, the TRON blockchain has the highest daily transaction volume in the industry and ranks second in total value locked (TVL).
The tour kicked off in New York on July 16, with subsequent stops in Los Angeles (July 27), Miami (August 26), and the University of California, Berkeley (September 9), culminating on the U.S. East Coast by the end of September. Specific times and locations may be subject to change; stay tuned for further announcements.
Participating teams will compete for shares of the TRON Builder Tour prize pool, and every participant will receive TRON Hackathon merchandise. Additionally, teams will be invited to join the online TRON Hackathon Season 5, where they can win even greater rewards. Co-host Huobi Ventures will also sponsor a bug bounty worth up to $2,500 for this TRON Builder Tour.
Each team must deploy a Dapp on the mainnet of either the TRON or BitTorrent Chain (BTTC). While building on these platforms, teams can utilize the powerful infrastructure and wide range of features offered by TRON or BTTC to develop innovative and impactful Dapps.
A TRON spokesperson stated, "We can view the TRON blockchain as an integrated system bridging communities and commercial domains."
"TRON operates like a high-speed rail system, providing fast and cost-efficient services, connected to the 'highway' of stablecoins to maintain stablecoin circulation within the ecosystem. Furthermore, thanks to TRON’s Layer 2 solution—BTTC Chain—we also have cross-chain bridges linking TRON with Ethereum, BNB, and other chains."
BitTorrent will leverage its decentralized storage system, BTFS, to provide data security and reliability for participating projects. In an interview with Decrypt, a BTFS spokesperson said, "The BitTorrent File System (BTFS) allows participants to fully focus on innovation, transforming ideas into impactful projects. Participants will have the opportunity to unlock the vast potential within decentralized storage, using BTFS technology to enhance their products and deliver superior experiences to users."
The TRON Builder Tour will also provide more information about Season 5 of the TRON Hackathon, encouraging teams to submit their projects. Additionally, participants can learn about TRON’s existing developer funds and explore how to build the future of decentralized business and decentralized communities within TRON—the largest integrated blockchain ecosystem.
