Sotheby's has officially released details of the two Theirsverse artworks shortlisted for this auction, with public bidding commencing on September 7. Represented by post-00s artist Enli, Theirsverse is competing alongside renowned artists such as Takashi Murakami, marking its emergence as a rising star in the elite contemporary art scene—and becoming the first Chinese NFT project ever to be featured in a Sotheby’s auction.
The two works entered by the Theirsverse team led by young artist Enli are "Deus ex Machina (Art Is God's Machine)" and Theirsverse #686. The winning bidders will also receive physical sculptures custom-made based on these digital artworks. The starting bids are set at 80,000 HKD and 50,000 HKD respectively.

This auction is themed “Contemporary Discoveries|Kawaii Pop 2.0,” featuring works by leading contemporary artists including Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Yoshitomo Nara, Huang Yuxing, and Mr. Doodle. Among them, Enli stands out as the sole representative of Generation Z.

Previously, only Invisible Friends had appeared in Sotheby’s 2021 Natively Digital auction, where it was sold at a remarkably high price.
Founded in 1744 by Samuel Baker in London, Sotheby's is one of the world’s most prestigious auction houses, specializing in over 70 categories and hosting regular auctions in more than ten locations globally, renowned especially for fine art and antiques.
This time, Enli—serving as artistic director—has led the Theirsverse collaborating artists into the Sotheby’s spotlight, placing the project ahead of its peers and even many other Web3 initiatives. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the Theirsverse Art Collective.
