TechFlow news, on September 15, the TON Foundation announced it had terminated an intern due to the intern promoting a meme token they created on their personal social media account. The intern promoted the token launched on pump.fun through a personal X account bearing the TON badge and discussed the token's future plans via live streams, but later deleted all related content and abandoned the project.
The TON Foundation emphasized that this action was neither initiated nor approved or endorsed by the Foundation. However, because the intern was responsible for managing the official TON X account and conducted the promotion via an account displaying the TON badge, the incident caused confusion within the community and damaged trust.
The Foundation stated that such behavior does not align with its values or the standards expected of individuals representing the TON Foundation, and therefore the intern's position was terminated immediately. The Foundation thanked community members for promptly raising concerns and drawing attention to the issue, and reaffirmed that TON's development relies on accountability and transparency both internally and externally.
