TechFlow news, September 13 — According to Bitcoin.com, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced Ethereum's scaling goals and development vision during his keynote speech at EthTokyo 2025.
Vitalik announced that Ethereum aims to achieve a tenfold expansion next year, increasing throughput and accessibility while preserving decentralization and security. He reaffirmed his strong belief in Layer 2 solutions, stating they not only enhance scalability but also improve interoperability across ecosystems.
During the speech, Vitalik highlighted Asia's critical role in Ethereum's early development, citing contributions such as the development of the PyEthereum client in China and early volunteers translating the whitepaper into multiple Asian languages. He noted that Asian communities played a significant role in raising awareness and recruiting early adopters.
Additionally, Vitalik called for broader community participation, emphasizing that Ethereum's progress should not rely solely on core developers—researchers, application developers, and new contributors should all actively engage in ecosystem building. He also expressed support for revitalizing initial coin offerings (ICOs) and governance models based on decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).
