TechFlow news, August 23 — According to Cointelegraph, U.S. Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman filed a document in the Illinois District Court approving a motion by Coinbase to stay proceedings in a lawsuit alleging violations of the state's Biometric Information Privacy Act.
The motion requests to await the ruling from the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, which is currently reviewing a case involving Nuance Communications providing voice recognition technology to Charles Schwab. That decision could impact the litigation against Coinbase.
The document approving Coinbase’s motion stated: “The Court finds that staying the proceedings will streamline the issues, simplify trial, reduce the burden on the Court and the parties, and will not unduly prejudice or strategically disadvantage the plaintiffs.”
