TechFlow, on August 7, according to Cointelegraph, the founders of cryptocurrency mining service HashFlare, Sergei Potapenko and Ivan Turõgin, are facing a recommended 10-year prison sentence from U.S. prosecutors over allegations of running a $577 million Ponzi scheme.
The two founders have previously pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges but requested the court to consider time already served. Prosecutors stated that the pair orchestrated a Ponzi scheme totaling $577 million, resulting in approximately $300 million in victim losses. Both are currently released on bail, with sentencing hearings scheduled for August 14.
