TechFlow news, July 27 — According to CoinDesk, a recent Gallup survey reveals that only 14% of American adults currently own cryptocurrency. Although this figure is eight times higher than the 2% recorded in 2018, it still represents a small portion of the overall investment population.
Regarding purchase intent, 60% of respondents said they would never buy cryptocurrency, while only 4% plan to purchase it soon. Among U.S. investors, 64% consider cryptocurrency "extremely risky."
Demographic data shows clear divergence: one-quarter of men aged 18–49 own cryptocurrency, whereas ownership drops significantly among women and older adults. Participation is higher than average among college graduates and high-income groups, while older adults and low-income households are largely absent.
