TechFlow news, on July 17, according to Jinshi Data, the European Commission has suspended its investigation into X platform, owned by Musk, for alleged violations of the EU's Digital Services Act, as the EU is currently focused on concluding trade talks with the United States. Three officials revealed that while the EU had originally planned to complete the investigation before the summer recess, it will now be unable to meet this deadline. They indicated that relevant decisions may follow once the outcome of the EU-US trade negotiations becomes clear. The EU has launched multiple investigations into X under the Digital Services Act, and these rules have become a point of contention between the EU and major US tech companies backed by the Trump administration, which claim the EU is unfairly targeting American businesses. EU officials said the trade negotiations have made all decisions involving the US particularly sensitive, as no one wants to antagonize Trump or escalate transatlantic trade tensions.
