TechFlow news, July 8 — According to MTN News, software developer Polaris Office has become the latest major South Korean company to enter the won-pegged stablecoin arena, having filed trademark applications for a stablecoin named POLAKRW with the Korean Intellectual Property Office, totaling 102 cases.
The applications cover three main product categories: computer software and cryptocurrency-related programs, electronic financial payment agency and cryptocurrency brokerage services, and blockchain-based technical services and software development.
A Polaris Office spokesperson said: "Stablecoins are the starting point of the Web3 transformation and serve as digital infrastructure connecting data, payments, and contracts. In the future, we will build a series of new markets and knowledge-sharing platforms around POLAKRW."
