TechFlow, July 8 — According to Jinshi Data, Elon Musk is working to establish a new political party to shake up the U.S. political system and has discussed this nascent effort with Andrew Yang, a Chinese-American entrepreneur and former Democratic presidential candidate.
Yang, who ran for U.S. president in 2020 and founded the independent "Forward Party," said in an interview that he has been "in touch" with Musk and his team. "I'm excited for anyone trying to break the duopoly," Yang said. "I'm happy to help others understand what this path looks like." Yang did not answer follow-up questions about when the conversations took place or what else was discussed. After losing the 2021 Democratic primary for New York City mayor, Yang intensified his criticism of America's two-party system. The Forward Party has gained recognition in a small number of states and aims to secure ballot access in all 50 states this year.
