TechFlow news, June 30 — Aptos Labs announced today that its co-founder and CEO Avery Ching has been appointed by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to serve on the Digital Asset Markets Subcommittee under the Global Markets Advisory Committee.
The subcommittee comprises 36 experts from leading institutions including Citadel, BlackRock, BNY Mellon, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Morgan Stanley, aiming to advise the CFTC on critical topics such as digital assets and help shape related policies and regulations. Avery's appointment, along with his recent testimony before the U.S. Congress, highlights the growing role of technology builders in regulatory dialogues.
Avery brings over a decade of experience building large-scale infrastructure. Prior to founding Aptos, he served as the technical lead for Meta's crypto platform, where he led blockchain development, wallet infrastructure, strategy, and the Diem blockchain project, amassing deep industry expertise and experience.
