TechFlow news, June 14 — According to Cointelegraph, law enforcement agencies in Russia's Republic of Buryatia discovered an illegal cryptocurrency mining operation hidden inside a Kamaz truck during a routine power line inspection near Lake Baikal. The truck was drawing electricity from a 10-kilovolt power line and contained 95 mining rigs and a mobile transformer substation. Two suspects fled the scene in an SUV before police arrived. Buryatenergo, a subsidiary of Siberian power company, reported that this marks the sixth case of electricity theft linked to cryptocurrency mining since the beginning of the year.
