TechFlow news, June 12 — According to an official announcement, Tether Investments announced on June 12, 2025, that it has acquired approximately 31.9% of the shares in Canadian gold royalty company Elemental Altus, totaling 78,421,780 ordinary shares. At the same time, Tether has also signed an option agreement granting it the right to purchase an additional 34,444,580 shares in the company after October 29, 2025.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that this investment marks a significant step in the company's strategy to strengthen financial infrastructure backed by hard assets such as gold and Bitcoin, aiming to build a more resilient and transparent financial system. Tether Group currently holds over 100,000 bitcoins and nearly 80 tons of physical gold, and has issued the physically gold-backed Tether Gold (XAUT) token.
