TechFlow news, June 9 — According to official information, Australian law enforcement authorities conducted a joint operation on June 5–6, 2025, successfully dismantling a large-scale money laundering network in Queensland and arresting four suspects. The group is suspected of using the armored transport division of a security company to convert approximately 190 million Australian dollars (about 125 million USD) in criminal proceeds into cryptocurrency.
Investigations revealed that the organization laundered millions of dollars in illicit funds over 18 months through complex networks of bank accounts, businesses, courier services, and cryptocurrency accounts. Police have frozen assets worth around 21 million Australian dollars, including 17 properties, bank accounts, and vehicles.
The operation was led by the Australian Federal Police and involved multiple agencies, including Queensland Police, Border Force, Criminal Intelligence Commission, financial intelligence units, and the Tax Office. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are possible.
