TechFlow, June 9 — According to Fortune, Tools for Humanity, the company founded by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, announced it is officially bringing its iris-scanning identity verification device, Orb, to the UK. Starting this week, residents in London can use the spherical scanning device to verify their identities, with services expanding to cities including Manchester and Birmingham over the coming months. The technology creates a digital credential called "World ID" by scanning users' irises, aiming to prove that individuals are real humans rather than AI.
