TechFlow, May 29 — According to the Washington Post, new data from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis shows that the total value of the top 20 cryptocurrencies held by the U.S. government is approximately $20.9 billion, with Bitcoin accounting for $20.4 billion and other digital assets around $493 million. These assets were primarily seized by law enforcement agencies from criminal proceeds.
In March this year, Trump signed an executive order establishing two national cryptocurrency reserves: a "Strategic Bitcoin Reserve" and an "American Digital Assets Reserve." The U.S. Treasury has entered into a five-year custody and trading services contract with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase to manage these digital assets.
