Scammers impersonate well-known exchanges and send withdrawal verification code messages, luring users to call specific phone numbers. The fraudsters then pose as hardware wallet support staff, using claims of "security vulnerabilities" to guide victims to phishing websites where they are prompted to enter their recovery phrases, ultimately resulting in theft of cold wallet assets.
