The meme coin plunged 90% shortly after launch and was labeled an "exit scam" by several cryptocurrency commentators. Welch stated that the agencies examined her phone and questioned her, but ultimately found her blameless. She admitted her lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency, saying she "trusted the wrong people," and expressed guilt over fans losing money. Welch said she only received marketing fees and did not profit from the coin itself.
