TechFlow news, May 19 — According to a report by Beijing News, the Haidian Court recently released a typical case involving a user manager at a certain internet technology company who abused his position to accept bribes and embezzle virtual currency rewards, converting them into cash. The total amount involved reached 9.74 million RMB.
The court sentenced the user manager to 12 years in prison for bribery of non-state functionaries and occupational embezzlement. The case revealed that between 2014 and 2019, the defendant received 6.08 million RMB in bribes by introducing supplier partnerships and illegally converted 3.66 million RMB worth of virtual currency through multiple accounts.
