TechFlow, May 13 — According to CNBC, Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it will cut 3% of its workforce across all levels, teams, and regions. A Microsoft spokesperson said: "We will continue making the necessary organizational changes to position the company for success in a dynamic market." The company reported better-than-expected earnings and optimistic quarterly guidance at the end of April. With 228,000 employees worldwide as of the end of June, this move will impact thousands of staff. This could be Microsoft's largest round of layoffs since it cut 10,000 jobs in 2023. In January, the company announced a small performance-based reduction. The spokesperson stated that this new round of layoffs is not related to employee performance.
