TechFlow news, May 7 — The government of Bhutan, in collaboration with Binance Pay and local digital bank DK Bank, officially launched the world's first national-level cryptocurrency tourism payment system. This innovative mechanism enables tourists with Binance accounts to enjoy a truly cashless, secure, and flexible end-to-end payment experience. Over 100 local merchants have already integrated with DK Bank and Binance Pay.
The system allows Binance Pay users to pay with cryptocurrency for nearly all aspects of a trip to Bhutan, including flights to Bhutan, visa fees, Sustainable Development Fees (SDF), hotel bookings, tour guide services, attraction tickets, and local spending. The system supports over 100 cryptocurrencies and offers both static and dynamic QR code scanning, enabling instant transactions and secure fund settlement.
Binance CEO Richard Teng said: "We are delighted to partner with Bhutan. This initiative not only advances cryptocurrency adoption in travel but also sets a benchmark for technology connecting culture and economy. It reflects our commitment to innovation and our vision of empowering global connectivity and enriched travel experiences through the future of digital finance."
