TechFlow news, May 2: According to Jinshi Data, China's Ministry of Commerce stated that it has noted repeated statements from senior U.S. officials expressing willingness to negotiate with China on tariff issues. Meanwhile, the U.S. side has recently proactively conveyed messages to China through relevant channels, expressing hopes for talks. China is currently assessing the situation. China’s position remains consistent: if there is a fight, we will fight to the end; if there is talk, our door remains open. The tariff war and trade war were unilaterally initiated by the U.S. side. If the U.S. wants to talk, it must demonstrate sincerity, prepare to correct its wrong actions, cancel unilateral tariff hikes, and take concrete steps. We have noticed that the U.S. has recently been floating various ideas about adjusting tariff measures. China wishes to emphasize that in any potential dialogue or talks, if the U.S. does not correct its erroneous unilateral tariff measures, this indicates a complete lack of sincerity and will further damage mutual trust. Saying one thing while doing another, or even attempting to use talks as a cover for coercion and blackmail, will not work with China.
