TechFlow, May 2 — According to The Block, Republican leaders from the House Financial Services Committee and the House Agriculture Committee will release a discussion draft ahead of a May 6 hearing to establish a significant regulatory framework for digital assets. The draft is expected to resemble last year's House-passed Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT 21), which aims to clarify when the SEC, CFTC, or both jointly regulate digital assets.
A senior executive at the Blockchain Association said the draft is "90% similar to FIT 21," but noted that the Trump family's involvement in crypto "has complicated the legislative process."
