TechFlow, April 30 — According to Decrypt, Ethereum Layer 2 network Scroll announced it has become the first zero-knowledge proof Layer 2 network to achieve "Phase 1" decentralization. With the latest Euclid upgrade, users can now send transactions without relying on a centralized sequencer.
The upgrade introduces a censorship-resistant transaction mechanism and user-controlled exit windows. Even if the centralized sequencer fails or enforces censorship, users can still submit transactions directly to the Ethereum mainnet.
Scroll has also partnered with Axiom to develop a new tool called OpenVM, which breaks down large transactions into smaller proofs to enhance system reliability.
