TechFlow, April 25 — According to Fortune, decentralized AI startup Nous Research has raised $50 million in a Series A funding round led by Paradigm, valuing the company at $1 billion.
Nous Research plans to launch a decentralized training system on the Solana blockchain, using blockchain technology to enable distributed AI model training. The company previously raised around $20 million in seed funding from institutions including Distributed Global, North Island Ventures, and Delphi Digital.
Karan Malhotra, co-founder of Nous Research, said the company primarily uses blockchain technology for coordination and incentive mechanisms, allowing users to contribute idle computing power to AI model training. Initially, the system will allow users with access to data centers to participate, and the company is currently considering whether to issue a native token as rewards.
